I want to share something my buddy, Hunter, said in honor of Memorial Day:
"Take a moment today to remember why we have Memorial Day as a holiday. Take a moment to pray, thank God for all of the men and women who didn't get to come home. Thank Him for those who were willing to make the ultimate sacrifice for freedom. Take time to pray for the families that are left in the wake of their great loss. Thank you brave men and women who have gone above and beyond the call of duty that we here may remain free. Rest easy."
Hunter is currently serving as an infantryman in the U.S. Army. Before he left in March he asked his sweetheart, Laura, to be his one and only for the rest of their lives.
I was so thrilled when they asked me to capture such a special time. We quickly planned a date, since Hunter was leaving the next month and would be away for a whole year after, and met up downtown Washington for an adorable, chilly, and truly touching session. It is, without a doubt, one of my favorites to date.
I feel honored and blessed to know these two wonderful, hilarious, strong, and brave people. They are such an inspiration, and I am beyond overjoyed for them as they start a new journey together!
Please continue to pray for the safety of our troops, and for their loved ones at home. I know Hunter, Laura, and both their families would truly appreciate it.
A big thanks to The Jeanie B crew for letting us climb aboard and snap pictures! Find out more about The Schooner Jeanie B., their cruises, sailing classes, and more on their website: http://www.jeanieb.com/ or head over to their Facebook fan page!
Check out a few of my favorites from Laura and Hunter's engagement session, and feel free to leave the two of them some love:
